Day 10: Capello Redux
This was about Capello patching it up with the media after their disastrous attempt at predicting a squad made them all look like, well the bunch of clueless average joes they undoubtedly are.
Buzzword bingo:
‘New Chapter’, ‘create new memories’, ‘compassion’, ‘my dream to manage the England team’
“England Football Day 12th June” – Not content with filling our screens with the undoubted bore fest against the USA on the same date, England’s heroes-at-home have come up with the novel idea of calling it England Football Day. Apparently this aids the 2018 bid but I’ve no idea how – as far as the media is concerned it’s England Football Tournament so not sure how this’ll come across as any different.
Biggest news of the day was an exclusive insight into how JP Morgan was surely one of the instigators of the bad loans crisis a few years back with the publication of what they see as a purely quantitative analysis of the world cup that results in guess who winning. riiiight.
God god. What a monumental waste of time for everyone involved.
I seem to remember an equally spurious research note spun out at the last world cup.
Anything to keep their minds off the bond markets I guess…
