Intermission: European Leagues

Got pointed to this article from a few months back re the state of the domestic game across europe. The Bundesliga is now the most profitable league in the world.

Hamburg fans banner no surrender

Welcoming their British rivals with witty avolt-face self-deprecation on the subject of WWII. Probably.

The EPL really is a cesspit of greed. Time they came in for a bit more of the abuse normally reserved for banking and oil to be honest.

I like the German member-based equity model. I like their culture and standing room stadiums. That 24,000 seater stand is immense. The atmosphere generated at Bundesliga games looks awe-inspiring and that’s just on TV.

What the EPL has morphed into has nothing on it.
